Welcome
to Vision Quest Sport Fishing

Why Vision
Quest Sport Fishing Charters?
First, I would like to thank you for taking time to read this and considering
Vision Quest as your charter boat choice.
Secondly, let me brief you on our fish catching/customer philosophy. Catching
fish is like any other job in life, there are those who excel and those
who don’t in their fields. We excel because of a self determination
to be the best in our line of work. The effort given by the Captains and
crew to produce fish day in and day out is one of 100% effort. Backed
by the 40 plus years of combined experience, knowledge and equipment,
fish catching becomes easier for us. This in turn benefits you, the customer
as the recipient of these efforts. The customer, however, comes first.
We try to see that all customers are comfortable, safe, and enjoy themselves.
Once we feel conditions are safe and customers are comfortable, “we
go to work” to try to catch them the most fish we can within that
given period of time. That is what you, the customer, are paying for.
Thirdly, let me brief you on our credentials. The Vision Quest is owned
and operated by myself, a fully insured and licensed captain with over
28 years of Great Lake water experience. Captain Mike Hinkel, another
proven and successful Captain operates one of the boats on a part time
basis as well. We are on the field staffs of national tackle mfg. companies
such as Ridge Back Rattler, BIG JON Power Sports Equipment, DREAMWEAVER
Lures, GAMMA Fishing Lines and A-TOM-MIK Flies. Some of the Quests highlights
over the years include trolling up a six man limit of walleyes in two
hours (36), boating (138) smallmouth bass in four hours of trolling, landing
(2,897) fish in (89) trips, hooking up (90) and landing (65) lake trout
on Lake Erie in nine hours, hooking up (73) and landing (35) salmon &
trout in 6 hours. Team Vision Quest has also won and
placed in numerous Great Lakes Fishing Tournaments in Pennsylvania, New
York and Canada. Since 2006, we have placed in the top 10 over 40 times
which is a PROVEN testament to our level of competitiveness and skill.
Thanks again for considering Vision Quest charters, hope to hear from
you…---Captain Pete Alex
Booking That Charter
Before deciding on that preferred date, keep two things in mind. The first
thing is that weekends are the preferred – the first to go dates
and of course, limited. Secondly, each specie has a particular time when
the fishing is better. With this in mind, one should book a charter in
advance, a year is not too far.
When choosing a date, a deposit of $150.00 will reserve this date.
This deposit is refundable upon bad weather or an extreme circumstance.
A two week cancellation notice is the least notice that is accepted unless
of course the weather is bad.
You will be responsible for bringing the proper clothing, footwear, food,
beverage, etc. Upon request, food and beverage can be provided at a reasonable
cost along with taxidermy service and videotaping.
Upon receipt of your deposit, a confirmation letter & map is sent
about one month prior informing you of the date, time of departure, and
meeting location of your charter. By planning ahead, you’ll improve
your chances for a preferred date and successful outing.
If tournament fishing excites you, there are limited days available for
these events. The Vision Quest visits several different Ports over the
season to compete in salmon & trout tournaments. Call Captain Pete
for more details if interested.
